Sydney CFO's was founded by Ian Wainer to share 20+ years of experience gained as a director and CFO in a variety of companies and industries.  Ian benefited greatly from working alongside some of the most talented entrepreneurs and professional managers in South Africa and Australia. 

 

Our primary objective is to build longstanding relationships with our clients.  We help clearly define goals and the strategies to achieve those goals. We spend time understanding each business before developing appropriate strategies to achieve success.  

We offer a range of services and whilst we are based in Sydney Australia we are able to work with clients interstate.

THE FOUNDER

Ian Wainer, is a Chartered CFO having enjoyed a successful career at senior executive level both locally and overseas. He has worked in small, medium and large companies and established himself in the business community as someone you can trust and rely on.  Ian has broad exposure to speciality retailing in cosmetics, hospitality, supermarkets and department stores.  He has been involved with blue chip companies such as Jazz Stores Limited (a listed company and subsidiary of Metcash Limited) and David Jones Limited Australia's leading department store chain.  He has also worked with multi-nationals like L’Occitane and Crabtree & Evelyn.  Besides his success in the corporate world he has been involved with a number of start-ups. 

 

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Partnered the CEO of L’Occitane Australia in building the company into a high prestige brand.

  • Assisted with the exponential growth of Jazz Stores Ltd, a small family owned supermarket business, to a listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. 

  • Change consultant and facilitator for the successful transformation of David Jones Accounting department. Was appointed Business Change Manager for the implementation of a merchandise replenishment system.

  • Project Manager for the successful implementation of a number of systems (MS Dynamics (NAV), BI tools (PowerOlap, Jedox) and Cegid POS systems.

  • Reduced inventory by $13 million by implementing an efficient demand planning system.

  • Outsourced a number of warehouses to 3PL providers significantly improving efficiencies and reducing costs.
